Project Prosper is proud to announce further solidification of its role and community impact by welcoming its first Executive Director, made possible through a grant from the Foundation for a Healthy St. Petersburg. Project Prosper has named Faye Steinhauser as Executive Director. Steinhauser will be responsible for administration, strategic planning, and growth of the organization, with special focus on ensuring that resources are expanded and utilized for greatest impact on the mission.
Project Prosper is an 11 year old, volunteer led organization empowering immigrants and refugees with financial knowledge and skills throughout the Tampa Bay area. With over 7,200 hours of financial education delivered and 76 small, no interest loans made to date, the organization has and continues to make a significant impact in the community.
Steinhauser comes to Project Prosper from Washington, DC, where she worked in both direct service and administrative roles with refugees and immigrants. At the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, Steinhauser was a proven fundraiser and program administrator. Her accomplishments include building a network interpreter program from the ground up and successful grant proposals totaling several million dollars. Additionally, Steinhauser held positions with the International Rescue Committee and a non-profit which provided counseling services and advocated for survivors of torture and trauma. She holds a Master degree in International Communication from American University in Washington, DC.
“We could not be happier to welcome Faye to our leadership team. Her unique experiences working with immigrants and refugees and her connection to our mission and vision make her the ideal candidate to lead our organization as we continue to grow. I look forward to working with her to ensure that Project Prosper is serving our participants and the larger community in the best and most effective ways,” said Board President Molly Auld.
“Project Prosper provides unique, comprehensive financial services which are imperative to both the short- and long-term success of Tampa Bay area’s immigrant populations. As a nation of immigrants, their success is our success,” said Steinhauser. “I very much look forward to empowering clients to thrive and become successful, financially integrated members of the community.”
