Project Prosper is a volunteer-driven organization that depends on the hard work and dedication of a number of committed individuals to pursue its mission and vision. As it strives to create financial stability and integration for immigrants and refugees, Project Prosper utilizes volunteers in all aspects of its program development and implementation. Volunteers are the heart of our organization. Check out our volunteering opportunities below!

Volunteer Opportunities

  • Teach interactive and educational classes on financial literacy to groups of adult immigrants and refugees. Curriculum and materials provided.
  • To get started, contact us at 727-266-0816 or info@projectprosper.org to attend a volunteer orientation. After, you will shadow a class prior to teaching on your own.
  • Be a financial literacy educator and the first point of contact for a borrower in the loan program. Curriculum and materials provided.
  • Assist an individual with personal finance questions specific to their own situation, such as choosing the best bank or budgeting for a car. Help borrowers develop a plan in the event of late or no payment.
  • Meet with your borrower at least once a month for the first 6 months of the loan to teach financial literacy, check-in once every other month, and act as an advisor.
  • To get started, contact us at 727-266-0816 or info@projectprosper.org to attend a volunteer orientation. After reviewing a borrower’s profile, you may commit to being a mentor. Borrower profiles are emailed to mentors after they are approved for a loan.
  • Responsibilities include conducting loan interviews with staff and attending monthly Loan Committee meetings where, as a group, you decide to approve or deny loans.
  • To get started, contact us at 727-266-0816 or info@projectprosper.org to arrange a meeting with the Executive Director to discuss your interest. Most candidates for the Loan Committee have been financial literacy instructors or loan committee mentors prior to applying to the committee.

Development Committee Member

  • Assist with community outreach, special event planning (Annual Breakfast Fundraiser), and fundraising.

  • Attend monthly Board meetings to discuss strategy, budget, programs, etc.
  • To get started, contact us at 727-266-0816 or info@projectprosper.org to arrange a meeting with the Executive Director to discuss your interest. Most applicants are former or current financial literacy instructors or loan program mentors.
